Our Home

Our home was built in 1911. Before the house was built, this land was the Alliance City Dump.
As pleasant as that sounds, this is our home. We still recover old slag from the furnaces at American
Steel, broken china pieces and glass from days gone by while digging in our garden out back.
John bought the house back in 1998 and lived here for a short time by himself. Then things in which
he could not explain began happening while alone at night. The bed would shake, he would see shadows
and hear noises when there was no one else around. He told me on a summer
morning the things that had been
going on. Throughout that day, bruises began to form on his leg. First one
finger mark, then two, until
by the end of the day, he had a perfect hand print-all five fingers imprinted
in his leg. It freaked him
out enough,that he began staying in my home at night. We were married shortly after and my children and I
moved in. My oldest son (12) tells me of many occasions in which he feels that someone is in his room,
he has felt breath upon his face and just KNOWS that someone is in there
with him. John and I began filming
and taking photos of the house at various times after so many incidences
have taken place. This is what
actually began our wanting to investigate paranormal phenomena, although
we have both had a lifetime of
such activity going on around us.
We have found handwritten accounts shoved in the back of the drawer, written
by the woman who last lived
here. She and her husband lived here, both in their sixties-seventies...they
had no children. He, a philanderer,
who operated his own furnace repair company out of the large garage.He cheated on his wife constantly,drank
often, and beat her according to these papers. We are still unaware of what became of him, but we do know, by
former neighbor's accounts, that she died here. She had passed away two days prior to being found. We believe
that these are two of the spirits residing here along with our family. It is our belief that it is he
who occupies the garage and the basement, as these orbs are usually near the furnace room.( We once found
a muddy foot print on the bottom two steps of the basement stairs leading to the upstairs, and then leading
to nowhere.) The sound of a coffee cup being lain upon the counter is often
heard in the early hours of the
morning. The electronic equipment malfunctions in the computer room, sometimes,
the children's toys will begin
playing by themselves in the middle of the night, the television has come on by itself downstairs,while we
are all asleep upstairs, there are so many things,.. too many things to keep going on... I have tried many
times to get EVPs here. As you will hear, the only one I was able to get
was "Leave us alone."John has gotten
some on video. There are many orbs visible also in the photographs. They almost seem to try to get away from
us and our equipment.
We will keep trying, because they ARE here. So far, we have all been able to live in harmony...
we hope it will remain this way.
